Objectives

Students will learn about historical figures from the Harlem Renaissance.

Students will use reasoning and empathy skills to delve into how historical figures may have thought and felt.

When students are asked to go “in role” they are developing empathy skills.

This lesson will challenge students to research historical figures from the Harlem Renaissance and engage them in a drama activity in which they get to portray these people “in role.” Everyone will love being involved in a talk show style, “hot seat” event!
